Surabaya, August 9, 2025 — Mungils Preschool once again brought joy and excitement through its bi-weekly Dolanan Class. This time, the theme “Happy Harvest Day” invited young children to explore the journey of food through hands-on experiences such as harvesting, planting, cooking, and performing arts.
The event featured a series of fun yet educational activities. Children began their journey by harvesting crops at the mini farmyard. With small baskets in hand, they picked vegetables and tubers just like little farmers. This activity not only sparked excitement but also helped children understand the origins of food while developing their gross motor skills and hand-eye coordination.
After harvesting, the children participated in a sensory play activity by planting. Using soil, seeds, and water, they experienced the joy of planting with their own hands. This session introduced them to different textures, taught patience, and nurtured an early sense of care for the environment.
The program continued with an engaging cooking time session, where the children steamed potatoes and sweet potatoes from their harvest. This simple yet meaningful experience helped them learn about food transformation from raw to cooked, introduced basic science concepts, and encouraged independence along with practical life skills.
Adding to the excitement, the class also included singing and dancing activities. Through songs and simple movements, children developed their auditory sensory skills, expressed themselves more confidently, and enhanced their social interaction in a group setting. These activities not only supported auditory development but also built self-expression and emotional growth.
Through “Happy Harvest Day,” Dolanan Class once again demonstrated that the concept of learning through play can create experiences that are fun, light, and deeply impactful. Beyond enjoyment, children received stimulation for their cognitive, motor, sensory, and auditory development, while also strengthening social skills and bonding with their parents.
